ALANGAD FARMER PRODUCER COMPANY LIMITED is a company formed by group of small scale women farmers. Our Company is formed in Alangad block of Ernakulam Districts in Kerala .The main aim our company is to ensure better income for farmer members through FPO. Small producers do not have the volume individually (both inputs and produce) to get the benefit of economies of scale. Besides, in agricultural marketing, there is a long chain of intermediaries who very often work non-transparently leading to the situation where the producer receives only a small part of the value that the ultimate consumer pays. Through aggregation, the primary producers can avail the benefit of economies of scale. They will also have better bargaining power vis-à-vis the bulk buyers of produce and bulk suppliers of inputs.
The main objectives of AFPCL are

To carry on the business of farming, harvesting, procurement, production, trading, grading, pooling. Marketing, value addition, selling, and export of Banana, paddy, etc

Rendering technical services ,consultancy services, training, research and development and all other activities for the promotion of the interests of its Members.

Promotion of farming activities among the farmers by providing scientifically developed seeds, plants, organic manures, technical know-how, and agricultural marketing infrastructure

Promoting techniques of mutuality and mutual assistance.

Providing education on the mutual assistance principles to its Members and others

Processing including preserving ,drying ,distilling,brewing,venting,canning and packaging of produce of its Members

Our implementing Agency - SFAC
Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium
Under this Central Sector Scheme with funding from Government of India, formation & Promotion of FPOs are to be done through the Implementing Agencies. Our FPC is implemented by SFAC. Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium a Society promoted by Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. of India, has been nominated by Ministry of Agriculture to act as a nodal agency to coordinate with various State governments, civil society partners, private sector, financial institutions, resource persons and other stakeholders to help in the conduct of baseline studies, promote Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the country and link producer groups to marketing opportunities.
SFAC support our FPC by providing FPO management cost and equity grant.
Our CBBO - BAMCO
Bharath Agro Processing and Marketing Cooperative Ltd
Our FPC is promoted by BAMCO .BAMCO is supporting our activities in accordance with the guidelines provided by SFAC.BAMCO is a registered Multi State Co-operative Society under section 7 of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. The area of operation of the society will be the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Also accredited as CBBO by NAFED & SFAC from 2021 onwards.
